Bootloader-Update bei CM4 Lite + I/O-Bord

  • Hallo!

    HW:

    • Compute Module 4 Lite (ohne eMMC) 8GB RAM, WLAN

Compute Module 4 Bootloader (Raspi Doku):

The Compute Module 4 ROM never runs recovery.bin from SD/EMMC and the rpi-eeprom-update service is not enabled by default.

This can be overridden and used with self-update mode where the bootloader can be updated from USB MSD or Network boot. However, self-update mode is not an atomic update and therefore not safe in the event of a power failure whilst the EEPROM was being updated.

Flashing the bootloader EEPROM - Compute Module 4:

To flash the bootloader EEPROM follow the same hardware setup as for flashing the EMMC but also ensure EEPROM_nWP is NOT pulled low

-> Steps to Flash the eMMC (Doku)

-> Flashing the Compute Module eMMC (github)

->Full Compute Module 4 (Raspberry Pi) Setup / Imaging Guide (James Chambers)

    • Ein normales Bootloader-Update wie beim RP4 B per rpi-update-eeprom ist nicht möglich. (Forumsbeitrag: You can't use rpi-update-eeprom on CM4, you need to use rpiboot instead.) Downloadlink rpi-boot
    • Windows Firmware Update Instructions (von James Chambers Guide)
For Windows you will need to follow the Linux instructions to get rpiboot (and more importantly the configuration files/scripts) on your Pi to generate the new pieeprom files using the Pi. After following the Linux instructions all the way to the end we will then need to copy the “recovery” folder to Windows where we will be able to run the final command using the Command Prompt (make sure you are in the same directory you copied the “recovery” folder from Linux to before running)

Manno, da hab ich mir wieder mal was eingebrockt :shy:

    ThanX

    Rick
